Collaboflip - Tom Flip & Mitch Hollingsworth
Art Space presents another spectacular art party and gallery opening with new work from Tom Flip and Mitch Hollingsworth. Flip collaborated with 20 artists to create a truly unique body of work. Canvases printed with Flip's photographic images were delivered to painters, tattoo artists, graphic artists, graffiti artists both locally and around the country to create the collaborative piece however they wished. Mitch Hollingsworth has created new folk and cult inspired paintings, sculptures, graphics and one of a kind pieces. The duo went head to head and also created a new multimedia mural on the courtyard wall that will be revealed on opening night.
This months opening features the local photographer Tom Flip with nearly 20 years behind the lens and time in at FHM Magazine and Rolling Stone. Flip is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC and his work has been shown at Gallery Duggal (NYC), Stone Soup Gallery, Time Out New York, and Tattoo Arte magazine.
Mitch Hollingsworth is a freelance artist from Waukegan, Illinois. He received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Illinois and has spent the last 15 years residing in Key West. Mitch has worked most aspects of the arts in town starting at Mallory Square, contributing to the Woodenhead Gallery, The 3 Legged Dog gallery, and opening his own gallery and design house ArtZilla Design. His work is part folk and cult inspired and he is a contributing artist to the Milwaukee Art Museum's Dia De los Muertos yearly event.
