Piero Aversa

The Legacy of Piero Aversa Lives on at Art Space!
Piero Aversa, international artist and socialite, was a principal player in the creative scene of Palm Beach, Florida during the 1950s and 60s. Known for his charisma, flamboyance, and eye for design, he later settled in Key West—as many free spirits do—where he resided until his death in 1990.
Fortunately, his boldness lives on through a diverse collection of Aversa's works, unveiled by local entrepreneur and art collector Amy Culver, and recently acquired by Art Space Gallery.

This collection spans forty years and includes: 23 sketchbooks, 7 mosaic paintings, 10 floral paintings, 90 portraits, and over 1500 drawings. Though his subject matter and medium varied, Piero Aversa was renown for working "in the realm of bright, exotic color" and with a great sense of design. He remained true to this style throughout his entire artistic career, as apparent in this one-of-a-kind collection.

Art Space is proud to present the Piero Aversa Collection with an exclusive opening reception on March 21, 2013 from 6 - 9 PM. Following the reception, viewing will be by appointment only through April 11, 2013.
